- Day 1 · Abant & SafranboluLeave Istanbul by private car. A walk around Lake Abant among the pines, then Safranbolu, a UNESCO town of Ottoman wooden houses. Night in a restored mansion.
- Day 2 · AmasraSafranbolu's old bazaar and the Cinci Han, then Amasra, a fishing town on two bays below a Byzantine castle. Fresh fish by the sea.
- Day 3 · Kastamonu & SinopKastamonu's castle and Ottoman quarter, then Sinop's fortress on its peninsula. Fly home from Sinop or Kastamonu, or continue east.
